iPhone 4S Without Camera Start in Singapore

Singapore's military has specific rules against personnel who have a smartphone with a camera. Even soldiers who have a smartphone must show a certificate that their device has been modified by one of the local operators to prevent the phones can take pictures. But to make things easier, M1 Singapore has started offering the iPhone 4S version without a camera.

Just to be sure, this is not an official Apple-approved modifications and distributors simply open the device and remove the camera from the iPhone 4S. For that, the price is raised to a level premium and the warranty voided. While some manufacturers offer versions of their phones without a camera (BlackBerry, especially), until Apple offers a version of the device without a camera, this is the only way military members in Singapore can enjoy the iPhone 4S. And for operators, it is quite profitable.
